Stop Floors & Furniture From Fading with Window Film

Stop Floors & Furniture From Fading with Window Film From Sunray Tint

Keller, TX Window Tint, Car Tint, Home Window Tint

Normally, a sunny day is a good thing for most people. Whether they’re at their home, their business, or any other type of facility they own, seeing the sun’s rays beaming through the window can make any room look brighter and more welcoming. But those rays can also do a lot of damage.

Despite how beautiful sunlight can be, those solar rays can damage floors and furniture, causing them to fade over time.

Not only does this make them lose color, it also causes the sharpness and clarity of any design the material may have to fade away. This can mean costly repairs and a dull-looking interior. However, using window films can help prevent this from happening.

Enjoy the Rays While Controlling Them

No one likes the thought of having to close up their windows when the sun starts shining.

But floors and furniture of various types can fade quickly when exposed to the sun, so homeowners are left with the option to just pull the drapes closed anyway.

It is possible to get the best of both worlds – and this is exactly what people are doing by installing protective window films on their property. These units are designed to allow for visibility and minimal sunlight, without the overabundance of rays that put property in danger.

Window films help people protect their belongings and allow them to avoid costly touch-up appointments, new paint jobs, and complete replacements of surfaces that have been exposed to the sun.

Window films are specifically designed for this purpose. This means they’re much more effective than some of the other solutions people use to try and prevent their floors and furniture from fading under the sun.

Why Films Are the Best Option

Some people use large and bulky coverings on sunny days as a means of protecting the surfaces that are near their windows.

For years, dealing with these coverings was a cumbersome tradeoff people had to make in exchange for sun protection. But films have changed things by giving owners a new choice. Their transparent and lightweight design is more convenient, and offers all the perks of shutters and shades without the bulk.

Some spots can be particularly troublesome, as their position combined with a lack of shade around them makes them susceptible to constant sunlight. Rather than having to design their rooms around the placement of windows to avoid surface fading, building owners can instead decorate as they please.

This means no more treating the area by the windows like a danger zone – instead, they can be the perfect spot for a table and chairs.

Heat Rejection – Why Buildings Need it for Spring

Prepare for Warmer Weather with Heat Rejection Films

While the colder months of the year do have their charms for some, what with the holidays and the placid sight of snowfall, most people won’t miss the frigid temperatures.

Seeing the sun peek out and the temperature rise means winter is on its way out and spring is on its way in. But sometimes those temperatures can go just a bit too high, proving that even the warmer seasons of the year have their downfalls.

Luckily, its possible to prepare ahead of time. Huper Optik’s window films are designed for high-performance heat rejection, making it possible for users to enjoy the sun’s glow and the season’s warmth without succumbing to sweltering conditions indoors.

Welcome the Warmth, But Prepare Accordingly

The warmer months of the year make it possible to enjoy natural heat as opposed to getting warm thanks to heating devices. There’s no substitute for the sun. When it beams through windows and begins warming up buildings, these are sure signs that spring is coming fast.

But while there is still some time to prepare, many people look for a way to make sure the heat doesn’t become overwhelming. It can be easy for homes, office buildings, and any other type of facility that has windows to become overheated.

Shutting the shades or adding bulky coverings to windows blocks the view – and sometimes it doesn’t even succeed in stopping the heat from taking its toll on the interior area. Using window films that are scientifically engineered to reject heat can help anyone maintain the right level of warmth and brightness in their location.

How Do Films Help People Beat the Heat?

Some people think that coverings for windows are only useful for keeping the cold out during the frigid times of the year. But films have been developed to help stop the sun’s rays from penetrating glass, making them useful in spring and summer.

The Therm-X series utilizes a combination of metals to provide both privacy and light transmission simultaneously in addition to heat rejection. Anyone who has ever wished they could see the sun without feeling it so strongly may be able to accomplish this goal with window films.

Great for traditional windows, glass walls, glass doors, and other transparent surfaces, Huper Optik’s heat rejection films can be a solid investment.

How Else Can Heat Rejection Help Users?

Beyond the benefits of a more comfortable location, what else can heat-rejecting window films offer? One of their additional perks is that they stop sun damage to floors, furniture, and other surfaces near windows.

They can also help a person rely much less on their air conditioner, which in turn helps the entire building be more energy conscious. These two perks both offer long-term financial gains for users, providing that window films can be a smart way to prepare for the future.

No one likes being overpowered by sweltering temperatures and stuffy rooms during the spring and summer. With window films, this issue can be avoided.

Llumar Window Films Can Reduce Utility Costs By 15%

LLumar Energy-Saving Window Films Reduce Utility Costs by Up to 15%

Getting temperature fluctuations under control can get you annual energy savings of up to 15%.

In many buildings, temperature fluctuations (and subsequent energy bills) are due to sunlight streaming through office windows. Too much sun and things heat up. But when the sun shifts or goes down, so does the temperature.

The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that one-third of a building’s cooling load is from solar heat gain through windows, and nearly 75% of existing windows are not energy efficient.

One easy, and cost effective way to keep the temperatures in your building as constant as possible is with LLumar energy-saving window film.

Professional energy audits estimate that buildings retrofitted with LLumar energy-saving window films can realize annual energy savings as high as 15%, with reduced carbon emissions and a payback often as low as three years.

Energy-saving window film vs. window replacement

When you’re deciding between window replacement or installing energy-saving window film on existing windows in a commercial building, a number of factors may affect the choice you make.

Tenant complaints are often an early sign that your building’s windows need attention. New windows don’t always address complaints about heat or glare, and energy-saving window film can’t fix leaks or moisture, so identifying the real problem will help you focus in on the right window solution.

If the windows have air or moisture leakage, failed seals, or damaged frames (or if they aren’t structurally sound), then window film installation isn’t an option to address complaints or window problems. But if your building’s windows are structurally sound and in good condition, window film can often take care of several of the common problems associated with windows in commercial buildings.

By controlling the sun, LLumar window film reduces heat build-up and cuts distracting glare in buildings —to keep tenants happy. And can help lower energy costs – to keep you happy. Contact us today to get a free estimate.

5 Reasons To Avoid DIY Auto Tint Kits

5 Reasons To Avoid DIY Auto Tint Kits

Let The Professionals at Sunray Tint Install Auto Tint For Your Vehicle.

It might be tempting to tint your car windows by using a DIY kit, but the benefits of hiring an auto tinting pro outweigh any savings.

Tinting your car’s windows is a great way to reduce glare and heat as well as enhance privacy. Consumers typically have two options for tinting their cars windows: Do it themselves with a DIY window-tinting kit or hire a professional. Although a DIY window tint is generally less costly, it definitely pays dividends to invest in professional installation.

Check out these five good reasons to hire a professional window tinting service:

1. Familiarity with local tinting regulations

Because dark windows are a safety concern for law enforcement officers when they’re making a traffic stop, many cities and states have specific limits on how dark you can tint your windows. Most professional window tinting companies make it their business to say up to date on window tint regulations. While some shops may provide darker-than-legal tint, most shops make sure their customers stay on the right side of the law. DIY kits can’t claim such an assurance.

The experts at Sunray Tint have been tinting vehicles since 1983 and stay updated on the latest tint regulations in Texas. We invite you to discuss any tint regulation concerns with a member of the Sunray Tint Staff.

2. How to tint car windows

Unless you’re purchasing a more expensive professional-grade tint kit, you’ll likely find the film in a DIY window tint kit is flimsy and temperamental when compared to the higher quality materials a window tinting pro would use. For a first-timer, window film in general is hard to work with; a slight breeze or wind can cause creases or crinkles, and some may find it hard to keep dust or other debris from sticking to the film.

An experienced professional will use a higher grade film and ensure that it’s applied without creases, crinkles, air bubbles or debris.

At Sunray Tint we believe in using only the finest quality and industry leading materials from such reputable manufacturers as Llumar and Huper Optik. Our team of expert installers have installed tint in Texas on thousands of vehicles from antique classic cars to luxury cars, and the latest vehicles from auto manufacturers.

3. Do it right the first time

Even if you successfully apply window tint film to your vehicle’s windows, you may not do so perfectly. So try again, right? Not quite. Removing window film is much more difficult than applying it, due in part to the sticky adhesive used to apply it to the auto glass.

Removing old window film can be a challenge and must also be done correctly to avoid damaging defroster lines and the window itself. It’s one of the reasons we recommend your old tint to be removed properly by our tint experts at Sunray.

4. Have your car tinting guaranteed

If a professional window tinting company does a bad job, car owners can always demand re-tinting or they can try to get their money back. If and when you make a mistake while tinting you own windows, however, you probably won’t be able redo the tinting without buying another kit. Once window tinting film has been applied to a window, it cannot be taken off and simply returned to the store.

As a leading installer of window film in North Texas since 1983, we take great pride in our work and make sure every customers leaves with a great experience. Our tint products also come with a factory warranty that a member of the Sunray Staff will educate you on.

5. How much does it cost to tint car windows?

DIY kits are most frequently used as a way of saving money. However, low-grade window tinting film does not always provide good results for the car. For example, one of the main reasons car owners are interested in window tinting is that they want to protect their car’s interior from fading and cracking. Cheap or low-quality window tinting, though, does not always provide this protection.

At best, car owners may get a little extra shade inside their cars, but they will not be able to protect their car over the long run from the harmful effects of the sun. For this reason, it makes sense to invest a little bit more money into a mid-grade or high-grade window tint installed by a professional.

The cost to tint all of a car’s windows can vary in price due to the size of the vehicle. Contact us today to get a free estimate for your vehicle

Save On Your Winter Heating Bill

Save On Your Heating Bill This Winter

Dallas/Fort Worth, Southlake, Keller, North Richland Hills TX Car Window Tinting & Home Window Tinting.

If you’re looking to save on your heating bill this winter, there are a few key things to consider. The warmer season is officially over for most of the country, and you might be looking at your heating bill wishing it was lower. Energy bills can get expensive this time of year, but there a few simple solutions that will help keep the heating expenses low. From adjusting the hot water temperature to installing insulating window film, here are five ways to lower your winter heating bill.

Turn Down the Water Heater

Lowering the temperature of the water in your water heater to about 120 degrees can reduce heating costs without a noticeable difference in temperature. On average, for every 10 degrees the temperature is lowered, there is a potential energy savings of between 3 and 5 percent. Once lowered, be sure to check that the temperature of the water from the faucet is between 120 and 130 degrees to avoid bacteria. Also, when you’ll be away for an extended period of time, turn off the water heater completely.

Use Vents & Ceiling Fans Wisely

Vents can help keep your home at a comfortable temperature when used correctly, but when used incorrectly, can be an energy drain. A well-powered heating vent is able to circulate a considerable amount of hot air in approximately one hour. Once it has heated the space, close the vent. If there are rooms in the home that are not being used at the time, keep the vents closed in those rooms as well. Another good tool to use is the ceiling fan. Some fans come with directions for usage in both summer and winter. Typically, if a fan rotates counterclockwise in summer, pushing cool air downward, switching the rotation to clockwise in winter to push air upward allows for the warm air to be circulated throughout the house.

Insulate Water Heater & Pipes

If the water heater in your home is located somewhere cool, such as the garage, and does not already have a built-in insulator, consider purchasing an insulated water heater jacket. Consider doing the same for pipes. If the pipes are running through non-insulated areas, first consult a manufacturer and with approval, wrap them in heat tape that contains a thermostat, foam or fiberglass. This will help to control the temperature and reduce heat loss.

Seal the Air Leaks

Areas that allow for the entrance of cool air in the winter drive up energy costs each month. Luckily, identifying and solving those leak problems is simple and could result in monthly savings. For example, the most common air leak problem occurs through the doorframe. To fix this leak, add weather stripping, or remove the casing and add a foam sealant between the frame of the door and the frame of the house. Look for other leaks in common areas such as window frames.

Install Solar Window Film

Imagine increasing energy savings each month just by installing insulating window film or energy saving film into your home. With the typical window, there is nothing that can prevent the heat from escaping through the glass. By applying the virtually invisible residential solar window film, the window’s insulating properties can improve up to 92% – helping to trap heat indoors. By keeping more heat in during the winter, furnaces will need to be run less often and energy costs can be reduced.

Vista™ insulating window film is a premium quality long-term investment and can help save you money over time. Find out how much you could save with the energy savings calculator.
