Control Solar Heat With Window Films

Control Solar Heat in your Home or Office with Window Films

Whether you realize it or not, solar heat has a massive impact on your everyday life. It can impact your vision, general health, work morale, comfort level at home, your office and more. The sun’s heat is a great thing in most cases, but there are times when it is simply too much.

Solar heat can impact you so much that you may have wanted to control it. While the ability to control solar heat may seem impossible to some, it is not that hard – in fact, with the right window film from a company like Sunray Tint, you can avoid the problems solar heat can bring.

How Solar Heat Can Impact Your Life

Solar heat is good in many cases, but too much can impact you negatively. Here are three ways it can impact your life.

  1. Surface Fading, Peeling, and Chipping

The sun’s heat is a product of constant exposure to the sun’s rays. When this happens, you aren’t just dealing with warmth – you’re dealing with a harmful impact on your indoor furnishings. Those areas of the floor and pieces of furniture by windows could be sustaining a lot of damage. Solar heat and rays over a long period can cause fading, peeling, and chipping, leading to costly replacements. Sometimes just the presence of hot indoor conditions can be harmful to surfaces, leading to bubbles, molding, and other common problems that are costly and inconvenient to fix.

  1. Higher Electric Bills

Solar heat is like a natural HVAC unit set on a warm temperature. When this causes a home or business to heat up, you have to turn on the air conditioner to combat it. However, this can lead to higher electric bills, which are artificially increased as the unit has to compete with the sun’s natural influx of heat. The worst-case scenario involves the air conditioner overworking itself, meaning you not only had higher electric bills but now you have a repair bill to deal with on top of it all.

  1. Risk of Health Issues

Solar heat is an annoyance to some people. The feeling of a stifling, sweltering indoor environment can make a day miserable. It makes it hard for you to relax when you’re at home. Moreover, if you’re at work, it makes it extremely difficult to be productive and focus on the essential tasks at hand. There’s a higher risk than just discomfort; however, as warm temperatures can pose health risks. Some people may encounter breathing problems, skin irritation, or even feelings of lightheadedness when they’re exposed to warm temperatures for too long.

How Can You Control Solar Heat?

The problems of solar heat are obvious. We all know how intense the sun can be, and it can hurt your property, bank account, or even physical health. Don’t fall victim to these problems – use a window film specifically engineered to reflect solar rays, giving you better control of your home, business, car, or boat. It’s a small step, but it has a big impact.

3 Most Common Questions About Auto Tint

The 3 Most Common Questions About Auto Tint

Headlight covers, body frame enhancements, custom rims – these are just a few of the vehicle modifications a car owner may choose to enhance the look of their property.

Window films fall into this category. They can do a lot for a vehicle by changing the color or hue of the windows. But for many people, this seemingly simple modification is much more complex than initially thought.

This is because window films come with plenty of common questions and concerns – at least among those who are buying Auto Tint for the first time. This can include those who have never used window films before and those who are buying films from a company they haven’t ever purchased from. Here are a few of the most common questions about window films.

uv rays cancer

Are Window Films Good for Solar Protection?

Many people invest in window films because they love the look of darkened windows. While this modification can add a unique aesthetic touch, it can also be used to provide some much-needed protection on warm days.

When the sun is out and there isn’t a lot of cloud coverage, it’s easy for cars to heat up quickly. Standard windows, even if they’re dark, offer little in the way of protection from UV rays. A good window film can provide high levels of climate control, allowing drivers to keep their vehicle cool without requiring them to rely too heavily on their air conditioning.

But what about the looks? Sure that isn’t all films are known for, but do all films provided a unique appearance?

What Colors Do Window Films Come In?

Many people look to window films for added privacy and solar control. But there’s no denying films are an aesthetic modification in many ways.

Window films can come in various colors, and can maintain their color even through years of use. Colored films can be useful in various instances. Whether a person wants to make their windows match their vehicle’s existing tint or they just want a change of appearance, these simple addons can be a great solution.

A splash of color can be a nice change, but what about the way the film performs? Will its color affect its solar control properties, or interfere with equipment that transfers wireless signals?

How Efficient is Vehicular Window Film?

In terms of efficiency, window film gets the job done. No matter what color the film is or how dark it makes the windows, films from Autobhan can always deliver their advertised levels of heat rejection.

Films can deliver the right balance between looks and performance, and even hold up against common concerns like interference with radar equipment and other similar signals. Not only will the films not cause problems of this type, but they can provide their benefits of aesthetic enhancement and heat reduction for years to come.

Even though window films are a simple product, it’s good to ask the right questions before buying. With the ability to enhance a car’s looks, improve its solar control properties, and do all this without any signal interference, window films are a great accessory.

Window Tint Percentage Laws in The US By State

Window Tint Percentage Laws in The US By State

Window Films are one of the most popular car upgrades for many drivers today, especially in Texas. Modern car windows are treated using a special polyester material called window tint. It’s meant to protect passengers from UV (UltraViolet) rays of the sun.

Window film can add aesthetic value to your car and reduce the glare from the sun. Tinting windows can also protect your car’s interior. It can also protect the people inside from the damage of UV rays.

While window tint offers other benefits, one potential drawback is poor visibility for drivers if the tint is too dark. On the other hand, law enforcement and police can’t see inside your car. Every state has window tint laws to dictate how much tinting is allowed on each window of your vehicle. These state laws allow drivers to use window tint and keep everyone around them safe.

Here is a breakdown of the different car window tinting laws and regulations by state. This information can help you make the right choices for your car. As you read these laws, remember that window tint percentages refer to the amount of light allowed in.  This is also known as the Visible Light Transmission (VLT) percent. The windshield tinting laws refer to the amount of the windshield that can be legally tinted or the amount of tint allowed on the entire windshield, depending on the state’s regulations.

Here are the window tint laws, including the darkest legal tint percentages in your state:

Why is window tint illegal in some states?

Most states prohibit window tinting for safety and security purposes. Tinting limits the amount of light that enters the car but can make it hard to view the street. Limited vision leads to an increased number of accidents on the road. The other reason why tinting may be illegal is for public safety when it comes to the police and other federal agencies. Extremely dark tint can be obstructive to investigations, and dangerous during traffic stops and other incidents.

Can one get pulled over for having tinted windows?

The answer is, sometimes. It is entirely dependent on the state one is in and the laws that govern that state. Many states have legalized some degree of tinting. Tinting done in the lines of these laws is permitted so you would not get pulled over. If the tint laws that are in place are not followed, you may be subject to being pulled over. In other states, tinting is entirely illegal. Any form of illegal tinting would attract negative attention from law enforcement. You need to understand and follow the laws of your state, as they do vary.

Is limo tint (blacked out tint) legal?

In the US, the tinting laws vary from state to state defined by the Department of Motor Vehicles in each location. Taking the state of California for example, the rules permit the tinting of the front passenger window only up to 70%. This means that these windows should allow a minimum of 70% visible light through them. This means that ‘limo tint’ is not permitted on these windows.

Front window tint strip law

The ‘eyebrow’ (the little strip on the car’s windshield) is also permitted as long as it meets your state’s laws. These small front window tint strips ensure that the driver has enough visibility of their surroundings. While on the road, you can get some protection from the sun. Some state laws also prohibit the installation of windows that are not tinted which result in some specified degree of light reflection. Front window tint strip laws vary by state so please refer to the chart above to see if it is allowed in your state.

35% vs 20% vs 5%. What are the differences?

The restrictions on the amount of visible light being transmitted into a car are defined and measured in percentages. These different percentages are the minimum amount of light that should be getting through the glass.  The higher percentage means the tint is lighter. Lower tint percentage means the tint is darker. The legal percentage varies from state to state and also for the different windows of the car.

Medical Exemptions and Waivers for Window Tint

These laws are ‘bent’ for people with medical conditions that make them more sensitive to light than the average person. A perfect example would be people with albinism who need always to be protected from the sun. Other diseases such as Psoriasis might affect people. While sunlight can benefit some people with psoriasis, there are people who will have a negative reaction towards UV radiation. People with Rosacea, as well, might be able to get a medical exemption. Rosacea might cause increased sensitivity (especially to sun) and inflammation of your face.  If you have any of these conditions, obtain a medical letter from your doctor. Keep it in the car for law enforcement and police.

Like all laws, the regulations regarding window tint on your vehicle are there for your safety and the safety of those around you.  Our team of experts at Sunray Tint can help you decide on the best Auto Tint for your vehicle.

Will Ceramic Window Film Keep A Car Cooler?

Does Having Ceramic Window Tint Installed Keep Your Car Cooler?

Windows are good for keeping intruders and pests out of your vehicle. But what about heat?

Many people think that tinted windows are all they need to keep the heat from overwhelming them once the temperature rises. Unfortunately, factory tints are usually designed for style and privacy over protection.

Autobahn’s Ceramic Window Film is designed to help you reject the vast majority of heat from coming through your vehicle’s windows and making the interior uncomfortable. You can prevent sunburns, heat exhaustion, and other problems by opting for this simple modification.

The Dangers Heat Poses for Drivers

It is easy to think turning up the air conditioner or rolling down the windows is all you need to do to combat the heat while you’re driving. We know this can help you cool things down, but it doesn’t stop the sun’s rays from coming into your vehicle’s interior through the windows.

The result is a situation where your air conditioner must constantly battle against incoming heat. This can be very burdening for your vehicle.

There are also situations where UV rays can come through vehicle windows, causing sunburns to those inside. Conditions like these are very common among babies and young children who have sensitive skin and may be unable to wear sunscreen.

Finally, heat coming into your vehicle means you could be at risk for conditions like heat exhaustion. This is especially dangerous when you’re on the road.

Rejecting Heat with Ceramic Material

Our ceramic window film is specifically designed to protect you against the hazards of heat while you’re in a vehicle. With stable construction, the film avoids discoloration or delamination effectively, and offers you the ability to reduce heat.

Different options are available when you’re shopping for ceramic window film, with some versions offering up to 90% heat rejection. With thorough protection like this, it is much easier to avoid the problems caused by high temperatures and harsh rays.

Beat the Heat with Ceramic Window Film

Drivers have a lot to contend with on the roads. The heat shouldn’t pose a problem, but countless motorists deal with stuffy, uncomfortable vehicles when they don’t have to. Using ceramic window film stops the vast majority of heating from ever making it into your vehicle. This means less of a reliance on AC and reduced risk of health issues related to excessive heat.

heat rejection

Reduce Heat Fluctuations with High-Performance Heat Rejection Film

Reduce Heat Fluctuations with High-Performance Heat Rejection Film

Everyone has a different preference regarding the climate in their car. When it’s warm, most people are quick to turn on a little bit of air conditioning, though there are exceptions.

Some people like it nice and warm, even a little on the stuffy side. Others prefer it nice and cool, with their preference passing for chilly by some estimations. But the common factor people share is that they enjoy a consistent climate.

Heat fluctuations are common in many parts of the world. Drivers deal with weather patterns that cause their car to feel mild on some days and smoldering on others. Here’s how Autobahn’s heat rejection window tint can help.

Heat Rejection Window Films as a Climate Regulator

The idea behind window films is simple, and for many people they’re as much of an aesthetic modification as anything. But window tinting films are very handy in the role of being a climate regulator.

Regulating a car climate offers many benefits. First, it ensures that no matter what the weather is, excess sunlight doesn’t beam through your windows and cause your car to become uncomfortable.

It can also be helpful in that it prevents problems like breathing difficulties and skin irritation which can occur due to high temperatures in an enclosed area. This helps the driver and any passengers they have stay protected.

These films don’t stop a car from being warm, if that’s the temperature a person wants. They merely ensure that when the sun is beaming down, it isn’t able to heat up the car’s interior beyond a reasonable point.

Rely Less on the Air Conditioner and Windows

When it comes to beating the heat, many drivers have a similar plan in mind. This usually involves combating heat with an equal amount of air conditioning, or even rolling the windows down.

The problem is that relying too heavily on the air conditioning system can cause it to wear down, especially when it is used on an irregular basis to combat a significant amount of heat.

Rolling the windows down is something many people like to do, anyway – but there are also problems with this approach to climate control. It can cause the wind to blow things around in the car, or even allow dust, insects, and moisture inside the car.

The ability to control the climate and enjoy a more relaxing environment can help any driver, and reduced AC usage can also reduce the wear on this system.

The Best Heat Rejection Film on the Market

High-performing window film offers a greater return on investment than common models. The market may be full of films, but Autobahn’s is superior.

Engineered specifically for rejecting heat and controlling the amount of sunlight, this film provides the type of cost-efficiency that buyers look for. No matter how much your car costs, you can make it more valuable with high-quality films.

Window films with heat rejection properties can keep your car’s climate constant and let you focus on the drive.

paint protection

Protect Your Investment for Resale with Vehicle Paint Protection Film

Protect Your Investment for Resale with Vehicle Paint Protection Film

For many people, their relationship with their car is only temporary – and they plan it that way from the very beginning.

A lot of drivers are already thinking about reselling their car or trading it in at some point in the future. Many keep this consideration in the back of their mind from the time they first get the car.

It’s a great long-term mindset to have, but it also requires some clever solutions. How do you future-proof your car against long-term damage and help it retain its value? More importantly, how can you do it with a simple process that is cost-efficient?

How Vehicle Paint Protection Film Works

May people have the impression that they must invest heavily to find a vehicle modification that works. There are plenty of custom options out there for improving or customizing a car – but which ones offer the biggest benefit?

Vehicle paint protection film can be used to cover common problem areas of cars – the hood, front bumper, backs of front mirrors – all these areas can be bombarded by debris during your average drive. Moisture, leaves, insects, sap, and more are waiting to take their toll on your car’s paint job.

But with these trouble areas protected by specially engineered film designed to withstand the damage, you keep your paint job safe and ensure your car stays looking great.

It’s a smart way to keep your car in good shape for the long-term whether you’re looking to hold onto it or to sell it back someday.

Protecting Vehicles Helps Retain Their Value

With so many hazards out there waiting to chip away at your car’s paint, it may seem hard to protect yourself from all of them.

From the nastiness that drips out of trees to the road salt that chews away at your car’s exterior, you can guard against all major threats with this film. It’s a smart way to help your vehicle retain its value, which is one of the more problematic issues owners have.

Owning a car is tough, because your money is constantly tied up in an investment that is depreciating. But with protective film, you’re slowing this process and giving your vehicle another perk with mentioning when it comes time to sell or trade it in.

You’ll never have to worry about your car being unprotected from the elements and hazards of the road if you protect it with trusted film.

Protective Film is a Long-Term Investment

Caring for a car is about being careful, but it is also about making smart investments. The changes you make to your car should help extend its lifespan and reduce the chance you’ll need repairs or touch ups.

Protective film is a very simple accessory to apply, but it can have big results. It’s a long-term investment, and one that can provide big returns.

Lengthen the life of your paint job, and protect your car’s value in the long-term.

Automotive window tint is a sheet of strong polyester laminate treated in variety of ways to improve the look and performance of existing windows. One side has a scratch-resistant coating and the other has an adhesive that bonds to the glass window.

Solar control tints for auto glass work by selectively controlling the passage of the sun’s radiant energy into a vehicle, reducing cabin temperatures, enhancing outward visibility by reducing harsh glare, and nearly eliminating the damaging and dangerous effects of ultraviolet light on upholstery and our skin and eyes.

Because the sun’s energy is composed of ultraviolet light, visible light, and near infrared radiation, our high-tech films with high optical clarity have been constructed to independently regulate the passage of these three bands of energy to suit the different needs of consumers. You can choose films that: filter out ultraviolet (UV) rays, reduce visible light to control glare and improve a car’s appearance, and block most solar infrared to reduce heat without changing the appearance of the glass.

Many people looking for car accessories store near me think that window tint is just for appearance, it’s not! Window tint does make your car look great but it also rejects heat from the sun, blocks damaging UV rays, reduces glare, and keeps you and your family safer since it bonds the glass to keep it from shattering in case of an accident or outside blow. There is a perfect tint shade for every car. Some people like the film darker for more privacy and glare control. Some people like it the same shade all the way around for a “classy” look. Llumar auto tints are available in a variety of shades and colors making it easy to accent the look of your car, while taking advantage of the pinnacle of tint technology. There’s no better combination of quality, function, and looks in automotive films anywhere else. If you’re looking for a tint that provides disruption-free use of your cell phone, GPS, and radio, our ceramic films were developed to do just that—with the quality you’d expect from Llumar and Sunray Tint and it’s guaranteed for life! Whatever your desire, Sunray Tint has the right combination for you!
